Working closely with Edmonton International Airport (EIA), Cogent has implemented a real-time Facilities Monitoring System (FMS) in their new $1 billion airport terminal. Cogent has tailored a system that provides a “single pane of glass” view into the performance of the facility. The fully integrated system connects to all of the diverse sets of technology within the airport (i.e. HVAC, Utilities, Baggage Systems, Lighting, Fire & Safety, etc.).
The FMS additionally provides a rich set of visualization and productivity tools to improve the overall effectiveness of the staff. EIA now has a fully optimized scalable solution that monitors all of their operations from a central location, enabling them to respond to emergencies without compromising on service, quality or security.
“With increased visibility, airport personnel have fast access to real-time information critical to quickly identify bottlenecks thereby minimizing interruptions and downtime,” says Sean Byrne, Electrical & Controls Specialist at EIA.
