Leveraging Cogent’s expertise in Operations Monitoring Systems, BC Hydro has deployed a real-time system that monitors 30 hydroelectric generation facilities across British Columbia. Operators now have the visibility they need to quickly prioritize alerts, pinpoint the root cause of issues, mobilize the right resources and make more informed decisions.

Cogent has developed a web-based Safety Lockout solution for BC Hydro which eliminates the need for a paper system and allows simplified coordination between the client’s control centers and the maintenance personnel at power stations all across BC. Through this solution, BC Hydro is able to benefit increased operator effectiveness, more efficient workflows and a decreased incidence of safety issues.

In collaboration with the City of Winnipeg, Cogent successfully developed a reliable, fully integrated SCADA system to improve operational efficiency at the new $300 million water treatment facility. Personnel are now able to quickly access real-time information and monitor plant performance around the clock.
