We are looking for intermediate to senior Control & Automation Engineers/Technologists to join our team to complement our organizational culture and contribute to our business growth.

In this client-facing role, you will be working with talented engineering professionals in a collaborative environment while executing projects in the Engineered Wood and Biomass Processing industries. Our projects range from modernizations to large greenfield installations.

The Senior Control & Automation Engineers/Technologists oversee and are responsible for designing automation solutions for their projects while adhering to company procedures, standards and committing to our Client’s needs. You have a track record of designing and leading industrial projects in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. Your exceptional interpersonal communication skills will support your ability to establish positive relationships amongst all project stakeholders. As well as contributing to the team’s overall performance by training/mentoring fellow peers, providing technical assistance and improving process and standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Define, design, develop and commission plant-wide control systems for industrial projects.
  • Design the control system’s technical specifications (control narratives, functional descriptions), system architecture drawings, PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI configuration (Rockwell Software, Wonderware).
  • Prepare the technical portion of the detailed control engineering scope, inspection and test plans, construction scope of work, and commissioning plans.
  • Effectively communicate with project stakeholders to resolve technical issues across all phases of the project.
  • Provide construction supervision and lead commissioning & start-up activities during control system implementation.
  • Mentor staff on the technical direction and execution of design, programming and commissioning of projects.
  • Be accountable to promote a culture of technical excellence in project delivery, cost performance, and the development of strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrating effective leadership of engineering teams.
  • Strong commitment to quality and engineering design processes.
  • Successfully manage technical projects through the entire project cycle including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, commissioning, and closing phases.
  • Understanding Project Management tools for managing budget, schedule, and scope of various size project

Qualifications:

  • We provide services in Canada, the US, and overseas; which will require travel internationally of up to 25% of the time to various project sites. Candidates must eligible to work in Canada, possess a valid passport and driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a degree, or diploma in Engineering and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive industrial automation experience with strong English language proficiency and interpersonal skills.
